i have a pioneer premier 350 that i want to install on my p5. do i need to get a harness for it, and also, would a mustang pocket work instead of buying a mazda one?

There's alot of different pockets often for a reason. It could possibly work, but the best way to check would be to measure it, generally most car's have a wider "rim" around the outside of the pocket, so that mgiht be an issue.

as for harness, yes that would make it a nice easy plug-and-play function. though it's not entirely necessary if you want to cut up your factory harness.
