Completely Stock P5
Well, stuck bolts and caliper repainting aside, the install was painless and easy. Took about a day all told with a buddy, so I thought I'd share a few pics.

Pic 1 shows the iON Sport Brake kit. 4 Cross drilled directional rotors, KVR / Goodridge Stainless lines for all 4 corners, KVR Carbon fiber / Kevlar pads all around, and 1L of Delphi DOT 5.1 fluid.

On to pic 2, step 1 was to jack the car up and pull the wheels (and hub rings if applicable) off.

Pic 3 shows the s*** we're getting rid of. A whole season of autocross and general wear and tear have left the stock setup in rough shape.

Pics 4 and 5 show the rotors we're replacing those with. Note that they're directional.

Pic 6 here shows my buddy removing the stock caliper bolts after draining the fluid via the bleed screw and then disconnecting the line and letting it drain out.

Pic 7 shows the whole assembly removed and the line hanging down to drain.

Pic 8 you can see the stock rotors. All 4 looked like this. After so muchhard use, the heat stress cracks extended al lthe way through the rotor. These things are cooked!

Pic 9 shows all calipers removed for repainting. The fluid was allowed to drain through the lines overnight while the paint on the calipers dried.

In pic 10, it's the next morning and I'm shown here fighting to get the new lines on.

As you can see in the first pic here, I'm really having a good time here. Not really hard, just a tight space to work in - 4 times!

Second pic I'm bolting up the freshly repainted caliper and hooking up the line with the new hardware KVR provided.

Third pic shows finished rear assembly, waiting to be bled out. Fit and finish of all parts was suberb. A true bolt on!

4th Pic you can see the left rear all done, with the line more visible here.

Pretty much the same for the front as far as install, just bolt it all in, here's a finished pic for the last one.

Another shot of the front. Nevermind the tire shine spray on the side skirts.

Second pic is a wide angled shot of the left rear.

All done, ready to bleed, my buddy enjoys a smoke while we contemplate how to make containers to catch the fluid.

All done bleeding now, we stand back and admire our 2 days work.

Wheels back on and torqued, this is what it looks like on the front all done.

Is it just me or does the drilling on the front sweep to the rear of the car and then on the rears swoop to the front? The rears btw, are installed in the correct facing

The rear rotors are not directional and the fronts are, sweeping from the inside to the outside of the rotor as they sweep back. Al lare installed correctly. Maybe just have another look at the pics? (uhm)

OK .. in most cases the swoops go like you have the rears.

The rears aren't swooped. Just the front. The rears have a kinda diamond haped pattern for the holes.

Check this pic. The rear rotors are shown in front of the front rotors here. Note the differences in hole pattern:

Protege5Gurly - the front rotors are directionally veined, hence the x-drill pattern on them. The rears are solid rotors, hence the 3-2 pattern. Had the rears been a vented rotor; it would have the same pattern as the fronts.

spike blue - No these are P5 & ES specific. We have MSP specific rotors, pads, lines and Big Brake kits available. PM or email us

It could swoop the other way also. I think the holes are even spaced because if you look at it another way, the holes can make a diamond pattern. That seems to indicate symetry.

Ya, the rear rotors are symetrical and the frons are directional. Uhhhh... What Jack said.
