has anybody removed stock mirror to put another one on?
plan on putting a totally different style on, so i need to get the base and all off.
i did this on my old truck with a razor blade, hammer and patience. figured this would be harder because of how bad our windshields crack.
thanks brian

if I remember correctly you will need a 4mm flathead screwdriver, get it up inside the base from the bottom and find the latch to click it off

i've removed the stock mirror on a p5 to put a new cover on it.

vulcanon is right, but also mazda instructions say to use a rubber mallet to wedge the flathead into the latch as it is a tough one =D

one of my buddies broke their windshield when trying to install a tv mirror... so be careful
