What other bulbs besides yellow (amber) can I use to replace the stock turn signal light bulbs in a 2002 MP5?

Thanks...

I am actually gonna replace mine soon. I love the way everything lights up amber, but I hate the way you can see it when the bulb is off too. I don't want to have clear turn signals or crap like that, so I am gonna buy some "Stealth" bulbs (I think that's the name for them. Basically, the bulb has a silver lens so that you only see the amber when they light up. The best price I've seen is about $7 each at Autozone (part # 504129B).

Here is a pic & an explanation on a site that sells them for $15 each: http://www.group5motorsport.com/cgi-bin/GRPstore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=SA-SB

The only other idea would be opening up the housing & converting it to LEDs like this:

That's exactly what I was looking for, with the AutoZone part number and all, alright man I really appreciate it.
Thanks...

Ok, rear turn signal lights for a 2002 MP5 could be 192 or 194's. Front turn signal lights are 1157. The headlights are H7 for low beams and 9005 for high beams.

Thanks.

I just found this site & they have tons of LEDs:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR

I might actually get those instead...decisions, decisions

I had LEDs in teh front for a bit... Be warned that LED bulbs draw a different voltage and that screws with your system... The frons would blink superbright wher ethe rears woudl just barely come on (and they were all about 3X faster than normal)

those didn't stay in... went back to normal 1157s

Which LED's did you have on your car? From where did you get them so I know.

Thanks...

Don't expect anyone to have them in stock. The last time I saw them in person was ages ago. They should be able to order them for you because they are APC parts (shhh, don't tell anyone or you'll get flamed :p ). I was leaning toward the LEDs, but after what rx7gslse said I'm not so sure.

Speaking of changing bulbs, does anyone know how the hell you change the sidemarker bulbs. I looked at them for a while & couldn't figure out how you get to them.

The reason I ask where "rx7gslse" got the LED's from is becasue I just order some for the front and the back from http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR. I hope they turn out ok.

The side marker bulbs are changed from underneath the front bumper as you would the fog light bulbs.

Thanks.....

well, to be honest I got mine from another guy who had them on his car... no clue what brand they were... They may say on the bulb, but I'd have to check.

But it is known that LED's draw significantly less resistanace than a normal filiment bulb. I suppose they may put a resistor into the LED bulb to make them function as a normal bulb. That would work.. or you could replace the flasher circuit with a lower wattage one to make the signals flash slower, or wire in your own resistor...

Or just let them flash speedy :)

The best thing to do is take the stock bulb out and match it up to an aftermarket bulb. Thats what i did. My turn signal lites are Titanium and my reverse lights are cool blue. Be warned though, the turn signal lite and the reverse lites are 2 different sizes. The reverse lites are smaller and the end of the bulb for the reverse lites are flat.

You can change the side marker lights by either pushing the housing towards the front or rear of the car and pulling out on the opposite end. One end had a rigid clip to hold it onto the side and the other a more of a spring clip type without the spring. Hope that's not too vague, i just changed mine with no problems though.
