gas question...no not about octane rating

i was just sitting here pondering about gas...here in az they are pretty strict about emmissions and air quality...i've always known that they switch formulas between winter->summer and vice versa...i've never known exactly was is added or taken out...anybody shed some light on this?? i know it's supposed to burn cleaner in the summer since it's hot dry and basically the air just sits in the valley...but what is added??

Well, here in Canada the "winter" formula just includes an anti-freeze agent to prevent fuel line freezing...

i don't know how the fomula changes, but in the winter they have to make the gasoline more volitile (read: easier to evaporate) becuase of the colder temps. In the summer, they have to make it less volitile.
