    Arrow Battery life?

Wife had a little bit trouble to unlock the door with remote this morning at 38°F. I eventually unluck the door with repeat-tries. Engine started without problem but I can tell the factory battery is weak with slow-crank. Guess it’s time to stop by at Costco for a new Interstate Group 35 battery replacing factory Panasonic battery which is 4 years and 9 months old.

AAA gave me a battery with 6 years warranty. I asked him twice and he said 6 years. I think 4-5 years is expected with my minimal usage.

So you’ve already had a new battery for your 2016.5 CX-5?

I believe the original Panasonic battery in wife’s CX-5 can survive another winter if I do some maintenance on it (adding distilled water、full / trickle charging to the battery, etc.). But I’m getting lazy and just going to get a new battery so that wife won’t get stranded somewhere with a dead battery and call me for the help (not going to be a good day for me too ⋯ )

Yeah the battery in my car usually lasts 4~5 years. Texas heat definitely affects the longevity of battery life greatly.

    Mine lasted 6 years.

Replaced with a Group 35 Interstate battery from Costco for $75 (price at the time).
