Mystery found under engine

Mystery part fell out when took off plastic shroud under engine on drivers side.

Anyone know what it is?

Not sure what it is either, but it unfortunately looks like it may have been broken off from wherever it came, based upon the way the plastic looks on the flat end. So, maybe look over 2014 CX-5 parts schematics for that general area of the vehicle, but keeping in mind that it may just be part of something else. My guess would be something for (loosely termed) passive draining or venting...the oval shrouded angled open-ended side doesn't appear to be meant to attach to anything else, to my eye at least, and there's that other opening in the flat side as well.

That's a port for the turbo encabulator.

Perhaps it's what's causing your hvac error code.

Maybe part of the PCV system? Is it rubber on plastic?

The pc that looks broken is plastic and the tube is rubbery.

Maybe drain for air conditioner evaporator ???

I believe it could be air/moisture vent off back of headlight? Check rear of the other sides headlamp for similar...

Thank you I will take a look for that. I went through a bunch of schematics for the engine but did not look at lighting.

That was it drain from the headlight..... Thanks for the help
