2013~2016 CX-5 Electronics remain on after shutting of engine

2014 Mazda CX-5 GT FWD Liquid Silver
Hi,

I love my 2014 CX-5 GT. However, recently the electronics don't shut off after shutting off engine with pushbutton Stop.
This seems to happen if I open the driver side door quickly after pressing Stop.

The door open warning beeps, the infotainment restarts and the pushbutton stop lights up orange.

I hate to take it into the dealer, so I'm hoping someone has a suggestion.

Thanks!
John

The workaround to shut off the electronics is to restart the engine, with driver's side door shut, change gears to Drive then back to park and then press Stop.

Sounds like Bill Gates designed that system.

You need a new one of these: Part #: KDY-046-040

Not sure if you are one to work on your own car or not. It's a $50 part, but expect to pay over $200 to have your dealer replace it.

Like ColoradoDriver said - your gear selector is not going in P keeping electronics on.
