Weirdest Notification for Check Engine Light

I had that same CEL issue in my car just a few weeks ago.
The weird thing was that I had burned through 3/4 of a tank of gas (about 7 days) with the cap off before the light came on. And when I replaced the cap and filled the tank, it took 3-4 days for the light to go out.
