Does I-ActivSense mess with your radar detector?

Just wondering if the activsense radar used in the new Mazdas will affect the ability to use a radar detector? I know that there are some false detections when surrounding vehicles use it even though they are supposed to use a different frequency. But, does your own cars use of radar also affect it?

The rear cross traffic sensors in my 2019 GTR constantly make my Uniden R7 alert. They must have changed the frequency from the 2016 GT w/Tech that I had because it did not do it all with the 2016. I*m very sure it*s from my rear sensors because I back it into the driveway and the only thing behind it is the closed garage door, and as soon as I start the car, there is a signal from behind on 24.123 GHz. Also get same signal occasional when driving in town, usually when someone is behind me.

Really bothers me since it didn*t happen with my 2016, but always happens with my 2019.

My escort iX doesn't seem to notice my GTR. I only have Ka switched on, but it didn't seem to trigger K either. Plenty of other cars did.

Mazda CX-5 are known to cause radar falsing. I didn't have any problem using my Uniden R3 on my CX5 2017. Using my Uniden R7 the rear horn falses a lot to K band making it totally unusable. Attenuating the rear horn fixes that issue hence I am enjoying the R7 on my CX5. By the way you cannot use the Radenso RPM with the CX5, I tried and it just constantly falses on K band.

How did you attenuate the rear horn? I don't want to completely disable K band and have the sensitivity set down to 30%. I don*t know of any settings just for the rear antenna.

My R3 and R7 experience mirrors yours.
No issues with the R3 on my '17 GT but constant rear falsing with the R7 in my Signature.

A combination of two steps reduced rear R7 falsing for me:

1. Updated the firmware. I got the R7 on release day, immediately became irritated at the rear radar warnings, checked the firmware and there was already an update.
2. Set sensitivity to "City".

Since the update and sensitivity change; rear falsing from the Signature's emitters is near zero.

we have a newer uniden in our 2018 CX5 set to Ka detection only and no issues

Since the CX5 issue is K band, yes disabling K band will stop the falsing. However, some people live in areas where K band is still used by the police, so that*s not a good option. Uniden needs to add a notch filter like they added for the Honda/Acura BSM frequency.
