for a cx-5 purchased this month, what should be the expected manufacture date? Would it just depend on the dealer and how long it takes them to sell? I would assume a higher volume dealer would have vehicles with newer manufacture dates?

right..I was just wondering how many months away from the manufacture date these are usually sold at.
It is depends on the volume of sales of the dealer, the popularity of the vehicle and its options, and the time of year. I purchased my 2018 CX5 GT (mileage 10 kilometres) in March 2019 and the manufacture date was July 2018. The dealer I purchased the vehicle didn't have the exact one I wanted on the lot so they reached out to another dealer and the vehicle was transferred so the sale could be completed.
