Z Zesshi Member : Mazda protg Jul 19, 2019 #1 I've been trying to find a filter for my transmission, but it seems my car has a different one? The label on the jamb states the car has a "4EC-AT" transmission. But auto zone says the transmission should be a F4A-el or whatever. Any help?

N negusm : 2010 Mazda 5 Sport Sep 19, 2019 #3 You know...you could post the year and trim level of your car. That would help immensely.
N negusm : 2010 Mazda 5 Sport Sep 19, 2019 #4 OK, that designation you posted on your sticker breaks down as: 4 = 4 gears EC = Electronic Control AT = Automatic transmission That is not a transmission designation. Just a description. Mazda used 4EC-AT to indicate a 4 speed automatic transmission. http://atxprobes.com/trans.html Looking at the link above: PROTEGE 95-02 1.5/1.8L I4 FWD F4A-EL F4A-EL is the actual transmission code/designation.
