Sorry - not certain where my post for clarifying that the oil level light (amber) was showing but here it is again...not low oil pressure. I will ride this change out and carefully monitor the level when 4.9 qts are added...then see where it stands.
    Thanks!

I do my own oil changes and I find that it takes almost 5.5 quarts to reach the full mark on the dipstick.

Same observation. It's pretty close to 5.5 quarts to reach full mark on my 2015.

I put the front of the car up on rhino ramps. Pull out oil filter and drain plug and let the car drain for an hour and then reinstall. Then I fill it up with 5 quarts. After lowering and running the car, turning it off, and then letting it sit, I have to add another ~0.5 quarts.

Look on the bright side. We don't have oil burning, fuel dilution, and oil rising issues....knock on wood.

When I was car shopping, I was on a couple of CR-V forums because that car was on the top of my list. The stories of the dilution and the [lack of] Honda's response were sickening. I dodged a bullet.

I've commented before that one guy was changing his oil every 1,000 miles to try to save his engine.

I'd be beside myself. Lawyers would be called. (I just looked, a couple of class action lawsuits have been filed last fall).

Yeah and those poor newbie posters on such forums register and log on asking questions about Fuel Dilution......instantly marked as trolls.(feel sorry for the legit posters at least). Imagine no support from dealership nor public forums.
