Engine Belt or Chain

In reality, timing belts, are quieter, use less power and absorb valve train shock. However; dealer cost to replace, results in a high cost maintenance item since they don't last as long. Ed
 
Bring on the noise, I miss the gear drive on my old 69 Impala XD
 
Facing the prospect of a second $1000+ timing belt service on my Honda (now departed), I was ecstatic to learn from the salesperson that the CX-5 utilizes a timing chain.

This may be technically true, but I've always heard injectors, lifters, and piston slap above timing chains. It's almost like saying "Aluminum case 9mm is quieter hitting the concrete than brass cases". Well...you're shooting, bro...that "pop" is pretty loud.
