I was attending the annual Osaka Automesse in Japan and Mazda had a display containing the new 2019 Mazda3...Here are some shots I grabbed with my phone...

Do some of those have appearance kits? The first grey vehicle looks different in the front.

I believe it does actually...Suspension might be modified as well...They have done a lightly modified "concept" of sorts in the past to show what's possible etc for the other models (especially when introducing a new model generation)...Perhaps these parts and or this version will be available in some form in the future.

I hope so at least...I really like the look of that bluish grey 3! (thumb)

Nice Antoine!

Thanks! :D

not too crazy about it to be honest

Yeah some angles I'm still not sure about...Not sure yet how I feel about the sedan's look...That said, Mazda USA has an overhead shot of both versions and I must say the sedan looks quite nice in that one...Here's the link...

The added valences really do a lot for the 3 hatch! It looks more sporty. The first 3 definitely sits a bit lower when you compare it to the soul red 3.

I like the nice, minimalist interior. All of the important stuff is in clear view of the driver, with minor stuff like infotainment and HVAC just off to the side. Only thing I wish it had was a traditional hand brake instead of an electric one. Based on the seat colour and dash stitching, it looks like a top trim model. Were you able to see which trim?

Mazda 3 and Mazda 3 Sport (Hatchback) specs, pricing and packages are now available on the Mazda Canada website. No updates on the 3 on MazdaUSA yet.

No Skyactiv-X engines yet. 2.0 and 2.5 Skyactiv-G only (155/150 and 186/186 hp/tq respectively). Top trims come with the 2.5 w/ Cylinder Deactivation only, with AWD as an option. AWD requires the 6-speed auto. 6-speed manual is available, but only on FWD 2.0 models in the Sport, and FWD 2.0/2.5 models on the sedan. On mid-level trims, engine options range from 2.0, 2.5, and 2.5 w/ CD.

MSRP pricing starts at $21,300 for the Sport, topping out at $31,400 full loaded. The sedan starts at $18,000 and tops out fully loaded for $30,400. Prices are in CAD of course.

INFURIATING (argh)

I think the sedan is the best-looking compact car out there, bar none!
By the way, advertise photos of new models from Mazda often show smaller fender/tire gaps. Obviously, it makes the models looks sportier.
I sacrificed some ride smoothness to get back that look. The bonus is sharper handling.
