Yes, the last door is harder to close if everything else is sealed. The 2nd gen has double seals on the doors for acoustics.

Strange to me to hear the CX-5 called a truck. I guess I think of it as a car.

Yeah my coworker with a Nissan Xterra calls it a truck lol. I've seen lots of bigger SUVs call themselves that.

I call mine a car though. CX-5 is just a bigger jacked up 3.

At least with the Xterra, if you chopped it, it would look like a little pickup. Plus it probably doesn't drive nearly so nice and carlike as the CX-5, and it can tow 5,000 pounds.

Well my word! These vents are covered with the softest foam rubber flaps. I really canít see them sticking but if the were I can assure you you couldnít sit in the car. If youíve got the bumper off and set the blower to slow, the amount of air that comes through them is unbelievable. On fast they blow a gale. The only way they could freeze shut is if the blower was not switched on and they were soaking wet. Highly unlikely.

Not sure why my last post is gone and I don't feel like typing it all over again. Basically just wondered if all 17+ owners notice the last door to close takes quite a bit more force (due to the seal of the car).

All I know is if all my windows are closed, when I'm in the car and I close the door my ears pop right away. If I drive on fresh air mode I quickly do not feel well and get a pretty bad headache. If driving in recirc mode, everything is fine. I'll take it to the dealer at some point to see if the flaps are stuck or tighter than usual.

Yours does not take much force to close the last door?

I do notice a little more resistance shutting due to the seals but not affected by other doors being open or not.

Right, not much at all. Maybe a bit more than when other doors are open, but nothing significant, barely noticeable.

    Update:

Due to the fact that I could not find anyone else with this issue with my research for the CX5 I knew I either had a problem with the air exhausters or I had a personal problem. Well, shortly after this I started having major jaw and teeth pain. Won't go into the details but was diagnosed with a major sinus infection that had probably been around since about the time I bought the CX5 in November. This still does not explain why it only happened in the CX5 - must be something with the pressure on fresh air.

Either way, about halfway through my antibiotics and I'm no longer experiencing the headaches, ear popping etc...on fresh air. So, yes, it was a personal problem - go figure.

Music finally sounds great with the sound system. It's very strange what the infection did to the sound of music and base. Wild.

Infections can do some crazy things. Glad you were able to get that figured out!
