Under the Hood Lighting

I recently completed a little project for those times when I may be away from
my garage and would like to have more lighting than just from a flash light.

Also, this lighting allows both hands to be free without worrying about how
to hold a portable light to shine in just the right place.

Power is drawn from an unused, always hot post in the fuse block under the
hood and of course, I fused the circuit.

Control of the power is from a single throw toggle switch located toward the
front of the engine bay.

I did this very same project on my MX-5, ND, GT last year. Several people
asked at that time why I used a single throw switch instead of making the
lights come on automatically when opening the hood. My reasoning is that I
frequently have the hood open and don't necessarily need auxiliary lighting.

Each one of the 5 pods has nine bright LEDs so it's pretty much like daylight
under there when the lights are activated.

Three of these pictures were taken in a totally dark garage.
