No more free Mazda Connect OS upgrades?

Hi there does anyone know if 59.00.504 NA is the latest infotainment version for the US? That's what my 2018 CX-5 came with factory intalled, but my Mazda dealer is telling me that unlike in the past, infotainment OS upgrades are no longer available. The only available upgrade is Apple Carplay / Android Auto which would cost a few hundred bugs.

Thanks, I'll check with the dealer again. They last told me the stale version on my vehicle won't be updated unless I decide to purchase the CarPlay option.

I think your dealer just doesnít want to. At least not without charging you anyway.

Sorry I couldn't resist.I presume the auto correction went haywire.

Seriously, you can upgrade to the latest firmware yourself and you don't need the corresponding hardware installation for AA/CP. Of course, you can't use AA/CP but I'm not interested in that anyway. I've done it and it works fine as long as you follow the instructions exactly. LOL I didnít even notice that. If cost as in you have a few hundred less bugs that sounds good actually.

Oh I wrongly thought bugs means dollars, because they used to reward $1 per software bug found back in my school days, hence the confusion:

    Thanks for pointing out!!!

Thanks for the posts too, very attractive indeed being able to update the OS whenever I want.
