"Range Rover" two tone paint on CX-5

Aces72Aces

2018 CX-5 & 2020 CX-30
Hello everyone, new here to forums.

I am in market for a CX-5 and stopped into the dealership and saw a floor model of a two tone paint job the salesman referred to as Range Rover. He said it costs about $2300 packaged with blacked out emblems and signage.

Havent seen anyone with this in a Mazda on the forums or social media.

Custom? I could have sworn someone on here bought a CX5 with blood red leather interior a number of years back. It was also a dealer floor model.

That was a dealer aftermarket sale. Not mazda package. I'd imagine this is the same deal.

Looks like they couldn't decide on gloss black or flat black. I wouldn't pay for that and I would find a new custom shop. For $2300 it should at least look right. Mazda didn't do this.

I agree. lol. A $2300 extra discount couldn't even talk me into that thing...

That's just something the dealer does. Not from Mazda, and imo certainly not worth $2300. It's probably just plastidip and wrap.

Wish you would have gotten a better picture of it. ;)

I love this look on the Volvo.

Looks like the door pillars are the standard matte plastic. This looks odd against the glossy black roof.

Dealers will often have a leather package they can add to trims that don't come with it. They outsource it to a local upholsterer.

don't know about you guys, but this paint job/ wrap job makes the car look like SNOOPY ;)

Thought the white/black theme was referred to as the "Storm Trooper" look. Is Range Rover known for this?

Saw a Silverado with this paint job earlier this week. Not a fan of it on the CX-5 but its at least better than on the truck...

If they*re going to give the colour scheme a name, they could have chosen better than a heap of junk Range Rover. The first thing I*d do if they told me that is get on my hands and knees and check for oil leaks under the bloody thing. Wart would be a more flattering name.

Completely agree. Call it two-tone paint and be happy with it.

Has anyone applied a high gloss vinyl wrap on the roof of their CX5? I am looking at doing my roof from the rubber seal of the windshield to the break of the tail hatch and along the roof rack rails. Machine gray, with black wheels is what I have. Planning to plastidip emblems soon. Anyone do this?

My dealer here in SFL has one of these in their showroom...it caught my eye immediately. Seeing it in person, I can say I happen to like it--it falls right into my comfort zone of making something unique without going over the top. But in agreement that it is dumb to call it the "Range Rover", whoever decided to christen it that, even if that's just a reference to the two-tone approach.
