2016 CX-5 Sport Factory Air filter vs. Aftermarket Air filter

I just changed my original Mazda cx-5 sport air filter at around 35k miles. I replaced it with a Denso Air filter from Rock Auto parts. I felt like the Mazda factory Air filter gave slightly better economy and acceleration than the Denso Air filter.

Has anyone noticed this when using an aftermarket air filter on their CX-5?

I don't believe any air filter will give any performance difference unless almost plugged. Ed

Denso is an OE Japanese parts manufacturer. For all you know they made the one you replaced. You're overthinking this.
