Come time to upgrade our previous gen, this will definitely be on my radar when it comes here next year!
I love the name: " Exclusive Mode special edition".

If that car can be had for 35-37K, sign me up. Very compelling car with a lot of the things that weaknesses of the 2.5l car. The loss of MPG is an issue but there is always a trade off.

    edit.

In japan the car appears to cost 3,877,200 yen. That converts to 34,522 US dollars, which would be fantastic!

    Japan taking 2019 CX5 Pre-orders

Here's a video promoting it. I like the new wheels! Makes me dislike my pizza wheels even more now.

Looks like (in the pictures) that they still don't have the centre vent thumb wheels.
They have them in the 6, but don't put them in the cx-5. Can't close the centre vents. I don't get it.

So... yea the wheels are finally almost as nice as the fangs.
But I'm surprised they are still using ZOOM ZOOM in Japan. And where's FEEL ALIVE?!?! No it's BE A DRIVER over there.

    Mazda: your US marketing sucks.

They have to keep the price close to where it's at now.

    Yeah no kidding.

Even if they fixed my cosmetic styling issues with the CX-5 in a "Gen 3", my god price has crept up on these things a few thousand. Granted, you get more things now at my same trim level, but still.

I thought they started putting those in on the 2018's here?

Zoom Zoom was so much better. But I see why they got away from it. No Speed cars, no RX's. Just a Miata and a bunch of "we want to be a pretend premium brand now" cars.

It's a turbo and they just roll with it?
It should have been, a totally different marketing video. Something, that would show the new added power.
    Really nice wheels.

19s are coming. December-Jan is best time to negotiate pricing on leftover 18s.

I think they’re doing a good job of going up-market. As a BMW guy, I find Mazda’s CX-5 (the current one) enjoyable and nice inside. The “cool daddy” features bring it a step closer to my ‘18 X3. I understand the forlorn conclusions here, as Mazda looks to be making an earnest attempt at taking the brand more upscale. There’s always Subie people!

Price increases are part of the transition to fringe luxury. They seem to be doing a pretty clever laddered approach. They’re starting by introducing signature trims across their models, which represent their new “standard.” Over the next couple of years they’ll probably phase out the lower trims to complete the transition. The starting price of the next gen CX-5 will probably be on par with the competition with Infiniti or Acura.

My thoughts as well. Remember HUD? Who bought it to this price point first ? Mazda. who was forced to bring it = Honda. Other mass market brands will follow.
Mazda has played its cards really well - 2.5T will not compete with any Honda / Toyota - these both have their upmarket brands to sell.
Mazda will now have 2 legit cars that compete with Acura / Lexus and Infinity - CX5 and 9. Hopefully the next 3 will sell big. I am waiting to see value proposition of the new range extended EVs from Mazda. I hope to drive my current cars till 150K miles and switch to Phev / Highway cruiser combination next with 60mpg and 35 mpg as main targets.

Well it looks just like the CX-5 I collected a couple of days ago, same colour Machine Grey, wood effect panels EDIT, I see that the new exclusive model has real wood!! and the wheels are identical too. I just guess that the new features stated there are not included but I wonder how long it will take for the upgrades to reach us here in the UK?
