If debris is coming at you at 60mph, what can you do. I too notice that on my Snowflake Pearl White, there is quite a bit of rock chips on the front bumper. A few on the side door when a rock somehow flew by and swiped it. I use Mazda's touch up paint, but the paint doesn't match exactly; gives it a yellowish tint.
I do agree that for the money I paid, there should be some durability in the paint or do so through the painting process.

I went ahead and installed a mask/clear bra on the front of my white 2019 GT before it started getting pitted. Hopefully this will keep it looking better for longer. I typically keep my vehicles for about 7 years/100,000+ miles so I think it's a good up-front investment (yes, pun intended!).
