    Help identifying part for liftgate

Hey guys, any help would be much appreciated. My wife's power liftgate to her 2011 Mazda CX9 will close, but won't secure/lock down without manually doing so. Taking the cover off from the inside, I can see the broken plastic piece, allowing the metal rod (Actuator?) to drop out...which i believe is the issue. I can find the whole liftgate lock assembly for sale, but hoping i can replace the plastic piece or another cheap fix, as the whole unit is rather expensive and not knowing how hard it is to install. I did find a used one on ebay for around $65 or best offer. I've looked through every part diagram i can find, and not having any luck. I will try and figure out how to post the pictures as i know i'm doing a horrendous job of describing. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Attempting to post photos of broken part, with one picture showing non-broken unit for sale.
