Hi all,

How much work is it for a novice to repair leaking with these:
1.) Power Steering Pump
2.) Oil Pan Gasket

The Trans Pan is also leaking but I figured that is way beyond my capabilities.

If anyone has step-by-step video and/or pics, that would be awesome.

Thanks,
S.

for the oil pan, I would suggest buying a new one or if the existing one isn't soo bad, clean up both mating surfaces and use the black stuff and try to get the edges as well to ensure a good seal if that things isn't coming off for a while.

Where is your PS leaking?

A lot of people might not want to try it, but I used a bottle of Lucas Power steering leak sealer on a truck I own. It worked well.

The oil pan is pretty straight forward. Just drain the oil and remove the bolts. Clean all the junk off of the mating surfaces and spray them down with a solvent until they are dry and completely free of any oil residue. Same goes for the trans pan.

An aftermarket gasket may be available, but a high quality RTV works just as well, like Permatex Ultra Grey or Ultra Black.

As for the pump, there is a DIY rebuild article on here if you search for it, but it's fairly complicated.
