Battery issues

Hey guys, so I'm in a bit of a predicament.
I just drove like 50 minutes to meet up with a friend, and now my car went start.
I'm getting a little bit of power, like enough to show my trip meter and show my door ajar light. But the second I turn the key to the on position all the power is gone.. I'm running an Optima red top

Jump it or go get another battery sounds like the options to me. Familiar.....only my last battery died from me charging it, driving it and then parking it too long and the constant drain things like clock and homelink and such drain it down to not start then battery is prematurely dead from that cycle of things....driving it more but don't like daily driving it any more, the truck is higher off ground and don't have to worry about pot holes and road debris like in the car with it 2 inches off the ground.

Yeah, if it doesn't start when I get back to my car, the plan is to jump it.
What sucks is my battery is only like 5 months old

5 months for a Optima red top? There's something else going on.

Is your alternator charging properly?
