Better milieage with Manual

I have been driving my CX5 2017 AWD GT in manual mode most of the time for almost a month now. I just noticed that I get a better mileage doing manual than auto. Better mileage in city and highway driving. Better mileage by more than 1 mpg at least.

That is good to know but also depends on the driver and road conditions.

I have tried this on our 2016 and I felt like I was getting better mpg in manual mode. When I filled up and did the calculations, it turned out it wasn't any better than driving in auto mode.
