2013 - Cx-5 GS
Hi everyone,

I have an opportunity to get a set of tires from a local big chain in Canada for a really good price using a family members employee discount.

My car is a 2013 CX5 FWD (2.0L engine) - 17" GS model

What are your recommendations (Price is all about the same):
- Michelin Defender T & H (Not really an eco tire, not sure if it will kill any kind of fuel economy on this car, does anybody have these?)
- Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus Tire (I read different opinions on wet performance, but it is an eco tire)
- General Tire RTX (I can't find a lot on this tire, perhaps it is more of a Canadian branded tire?)
- Continental True Contact (if you are recommending this, what are your thoughts on the speed rating being below the OEM tire, and different shops possibly not installing it on the car)

I will be honest, I have some reservation against the Contis after my tire chain said they don't consider it a tire for my car. I am not certain if my dealer will install it, and if I got into an accident with it, I am not sure what insurance would say...

I appreciate your time in reading this and posting a response.

Here are partial list of many 225/65R17 tires with specs. I still feel General AltiMAX RT43 is the best buy with excellent reviews. And Continental is a major tire company based in Germany.
