2014 CX5 AWD - ok to drive without propellor shaft?

Hi All, I think our CX5 may be suffering from the rear diff TSB, its been squeeking for a while and has just started binding up when turning corners slowly, like pulling out of a parking spot. Its hard to tell if the binding is happening in the rear diff or being transferred from the front - does anyone know if its ok to drive with out the propellor shaft installed? Thinking it may help narrow it down?

What do you mean by binding? A popping sound or a physical drag? You can pull the 20a? Abs fuse (the smaller pne) and it should put the car in wrong wheel mode. It will disable abs and dsc though. Are you sure its not a wheel bearing or cv joint?

Yeah its a physical clunk clunk clunk - feels bit like having a locked diff. Only does it when one whell is travelling faster than the other- like going around a corner but cant decide if its front or rear. Noticed both ends of the propellor shaft are flanged and considered removing it and going for a drive...

Are you sure your rear brake indicators aren’t the culprit? They will make one hell of a racket when your pads are shot. How many miles are on your rear brakes?
