GoFrogs. If you bought recently, what did you pay for your '16 Touring?

The biggest difference in the 1st gens that mattered to me is the headlights. The 2016.5 (mid-year update) got a new headlight unit that has a built in eyelid, projector LED headlamps, and LED strip DRLs that really make the "eyes" look amazing:

Just posting this for any lurkers out there.

At the top of this forum is a sticky thread that lists TSB’s. It contains a lot of statements along the lines of “an issue exists in model year X VINs and it was fixed later.” All sorts of fixes both small and large....which would make buying a newer model year worthwhile even if the advertised upgrades aren’t of any value to you as a buyer!

A year ago, in April, I think we got a truecar price around $22.4k minus our trade. Car had sub 9k miles and I'm thinking it could have been one of the dealer's loaner fleet cars due to the abnormal wear in the driver scuff plate/sill area.

Car was clean, no glaring OMG items. It met our budget, met the wife's color combo approval (unlike a Forester 2.5i base), met our storage/gear holding rqmt, met wife's AWD rqmt, met my NO CVT rqmt. We traded in a fairly mint '04 Pathfinder SE AWD and gave up a few niceties/features; but we thought everything the CX-5 had plus the bump in average mpg was enough to justify the trade; otherwise, we would still be in the PF doing what we do - that thing was a beast, but it drank like one too.

Is that true for all models or just the GT?

The LED headlights, DRL's, fogs and tails were available on the 2016 refresh right from the start (at the same time the horizontal bar grill replaced the honeycomb grill). They were available as part of the "Touring Technology Package" or the "Grand Touring Technology Package". So you could get them on the T or GT but not the Sport.

The 2016.5 changed the option packages a bit but I don't remember how that affected the LED lighting.

2016 was also when we got the command knob FTW.

Although the command knob existed outside the USA for 2013-2015. It was in place of one of the cupholders.
