Mazda Mobile Start Issues

2018 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Machine Grey/Parchment
I just bought a Mazda CX-5 today, and while I am usually fairly technically savvy, the app doesn't even start. When I try to open it on my Galaxy S8+ it says "This application may not be secure. Please check the box in the Settings menu to allow application to access usage history as part of security authentication to continue using this application." It directs me to app settings but there is no option to let the app access usage history. Any suggestions?
 
I had issues with the Mazda Mobile start on my 2016. The cars unit wouldn't receive the signal. I really think Mazda dropped the ball on its Mobile Start setup. Both the APP and the cars connection.
