Bluetooth connection delay?

:
2016 CX-9 GT AWD
I've owned a 2016 touring and now own a 2017 GT and both cars have had the same issue with the bluetooth taking a long time to pair. I'll have my phone on me, start the car up, and 20-30 seconds later it finally connects. I thought this was normal as the 2016 was my first car with bluetooth, but I had to borrow my wife's 2013 toyota the other day and I paired my phone and when I start the car it connects to bluetooth in about 5 seconds or so. I'm guessing it's normal for it to take this long in a Mazda seeing as it did it with 2 cars, but is there a trick to speed this up? Not a big deal either way

Try turning off sync for contacts and call history. Doing this ever time adds delay. Settings in bt settings in Mazda.
