I'm curious as to what the cylinder wall material is. Sleeved iron or chrome or silicon impregnated or ? Anyone have a reference on what the surface is? Ed

It's either steel sleeved, or plasma deposit.

Many modern engines us a coating of Nickle and Silicon. NIKSIL Ed

Around 2000, some BMWs and Jaguar engines, had issues with that Nikasil. I hope, ours is better.

Thats because of the terrible quality fuel here in North America. Europe, which has much better quality fuel had no such issues.
