The 1.6 shares the same MAF that Toyota uses of the Celica and with some cold air setups the OEM doesn't meter the air correctly but the Celica MAF just smooth everything out

Here's to you not running into the same issues we did installing a Miata flywheel into our G series box on the Escort GT; if you've not yet installed everything else, do yourself a favor and hook the slave back up and have a feel of the engagement from in the car. We had to shim the pivot fork with a washer as the engagement was obscenely low. Looking on RockAuto, the flywheels interchange, so I'm doubtful any issues will arise.
Chuffed to see an update, and one that includes great news at that!
Just stumbled upon this build, awesome protege man. I've been looking into rally recently, I always liked speeding through the logging roads in the pro5. Looking forward to updates!
Crewed for SCL Racing this year at SOFR. It was a night event this year so we were up all night, waiting for the car to come into service. I was a great experience keeping the car in tip top shape to complete the rally. SCI took 3rd place in their class on a fresh rebulid.
