It probably was not but the baby seat industry suggests replacing a seat any time it's been in an accident (to get you to buy another one) because it could now be considered unsafe. Y'know there might now be an invisible hairline crack somewhere that might compromise its safety in another crash.
 
7 is right, our seat is fine but these makers of baby products know how to strike fear in new parents.
 
Ours got hit a month back, rear ended, they had to replace the black bumper and the plastic that runs across and up to the rear lights. All done it was 800.00 and took two days for them to fix.. the other guys insurance paid.
