The time has come for me to sell my MP3 Turbo and move on to something else. This car has been amazing and I will miss it tremendously. For those of you familiar with the MP3, you likely know that only 1500 total MP3's were produced in 2001, and only 500 came in yellow! This is as rare of a car (and Protege) as you will find and you'll be hard pressed to find one in better overall condition.
Price: $5500 *SOLD*
I will not part out as I don't have the stock parts anymore
A bit of history. I bought it in 2009 with 65,000 miles on the odometer (I'm the second owner) and I've done my best to take really good care of it, both inside and out. The car came from Virginia to Oregon in 2010. I had it professionally repainted in 2013 to fix the crummy paint job Mazda is known for on the yellow (HZ) Proteges, and it has been garaged ever since. I don't drive much so the car only has 115K on it at this point. It has NEVER SEEN SALT OR SNOW and is virtually rust free!
It's lightly modified to make it a bit more fun. It has a MSP turbo making stock 6 psi of boost, Turbolife FMIC, 626 intake manifold, Injen intake with AEM filter, GReddy Type S setup to recirculate, Racing Beat 2.5" catback w/ 03.5 MSP axleback, and a SS AFC v2 for tuning. AEM boost and wideband gauges come mounted in a ForceFed bezel gauge cluster. The car is an absolute blast to drive and is the best sounding turbo car I've ever driven!
It also comes with a Viper791XV remote start alarm system. This is wired in a way that requires the car to be in N with the e-brake up for the remote start to work. If either is depressed the engine cuts off. It also allows you to use it as a turbo timer, which was the main reason I installed it. Added bonuses of this system include a 2-way alarm, remote control of the front windows (both up and down), one-touch front windows (both up and down), remote trunk unlatch, a shock sensor, and proximity sensor. It's a great thing to have both for winter (remote start) and summer (remote windows).
It got new tires and a complete alignment in 2016. The tires are 215/45/R17 Continental DWS, one of the highest rated All-Seasons on the market. Lots of thread left! Less than 10K miles on them.
Best way to contact me is by text at 319-296-5280. Otherwise a PM on this forum will go straight to my email and I'll respond ASAP.
Anyway, I can talk about this car all day but let's get to the details:
General
Things to note/fix
Overall Ratings
And I think it goes without saying that the sale will be final and non-refundable, so serious buyers only please. I've done my best to disclose any and all defects to the best of my knowledge, but will gladly help with any troubleshooting that comes up down the road. I would love to see this car go to someone who would appreciate it for its uniqueness and outstanding performance, so I'd like to know it will continue to be maintained and I'm happy to help out any way I can.
Now on to the pictures...
