2017~2024 Auto climate control always turns on AC

Yea I’m wearing a coat that’s why I go with 68 or cooler
On any trip over over 30 minutes, I prefer to not wear a coat.

Been leaving it at 78 to test and it heats up just as quickly as when it's on 90. I swear the first time I tested it, it didn't go 5 bars on 68, but it was ever since so I was wrong.

Just be worried when the air con won't cool or heat. Otherwise it's fine how it operates as is

That’s about how cold it got here around New Years. Definitely need to dress appropriately. You can get frost bite in as little as 10 minutes.

I dont think so as its not safe to run in sub freezing temps and even when it was -15 F here mine said ac on. I think it just always says that in auto. We should stop reading into it.
Yes its not safe to the system running AC compressor below 32F. Even the old American AC system which left the compressor running all the time would cut off the compressor when the temperature is below freezing.

Yes, I believe the compressor will not run below 32F, but other than that (and normal internal compressor cycling), it doesn't appear there is any other algorithm from the ACC for US models. Not sure why we were shorted the ECO mode and humidity sensor.

The consensus is just leave it alone, but there is a (albeit modest) reduction in power and fuel economy with it running. And dry winters already give my sinuses issues :)
