There is a part, I'm thinking a mount, or support or the like, for the battery in my car that's very corroded. I've included a pic. I'm trying to see if I can replace that part as it's degraded pretty bad.

Ahh... yep.., the part number for that is 1-MUD-D4UB3R-N35T. (shady)

It's a known issue. And if you want it replaced, it'll not cost you nothing. A replacement part is available for free from THESE GUYS.

Right OK. I'm not expecting to get the part from a catalog, I know someone who is parting out P5 and I can possible swap that part out. Assuming I can identify it. It appears to be a piece of metal bolted down that supports the battery. Thought I'd ask here before I go pulling things apart and investigating further.

(help) (attn) (confused)

LOL! Mate, it's a mud dauber's (mud wasp) nest. 1-MUD-D4UB3R-N35T = 1 MUD DAUBER NEST.

Did you even click on the link?

It's a wasp's nest.

(lol2)

It was just corrosion build up. I thought it ate through the metal but I was able to reach in and clean it up a bit and it only appears to be superficial. Don't think we get mud wasps up here in Canada.

Not sure, but I think you'll find you might have mud wasps in Canada.

"The most common pest wasps associated with structures in Canada are hornets, yellow jackets, paper wasps, and mud daubers."
https://www.orkincanada.ca/pests/wasps/

"Mud dauber wasps are a member of the Sphecidae family and are related to Digger and Potter wasps. Mud dauber wasps can be found across Canada in eight of the ten provinces including Ontario and Qubec."

But hey... (dunno)
