Can cross traffic alert sense a ghost?

Every once in a while, when I'm backing out of my parking spot at home, the cross traffic alert will beep even though nobody or nothing was there. I didn't really think much about it until recently my mom mentioned the neighbor that passed away about a year ago. Then I realized that he used to always stand in that area smoking. I'm just wonder if it's sensing a ghost or if it's just a technical glitch, I'm hoping for the latter. I've never had any false warnings anywhere else :/

Every time I get a new puppy a weird orb appears and "checks" them out while they are sleeping the first day or so. Creepy. I even caught one on camera once.

If it happens a 3rd time I'm calling the Ghostbusters.

Mine often goes off when there is cross traffic even pretty far away.

The RCTA is based on Doppler effect.
If the object is not moving, it cannot be detected.
It is more sensitive to metal, but it detects human as well if it is close.

It works differently from blind spot system, but both are based on the same radar sensors.
