blinking key icon in dash

I have 09 luxury. I have noticed that when the car is off, the key icon in the dash is blinking. Even when the door is closed and the key fob is not in the car. The fob still works and car starts and doors lock. Im at a loss why this is happening.

That simply means that the engine immobilizer is turned on/activated/armed
