Nothing, probably. On some cars, the firewall flexes a little when you push the brake pedal, so they crafted these braces to fix that issue. Old Saabs and Subaru Imprezas had this problem that I know of, there could be more. Now, it seems like this has become the "mod du jour".

Actually the group buy is only for the front strut bar only which is $303 regular price. Part# MTC4000

Shipping is about $40 depending what state you are in.
