Car randomly shuts off and won't start.

I have a 03 protege and the car will randomly not start or die while driving.

It will crank and the temp sensor will go all the way hot even when the engine is cold. The first time it happened it blew the #10 (30 amp fuse) for the ecu and the last two times it happened it didn't blow the fuse but the car would only start after pulling the same fuse and putting it back in. like restarting the fuse or ecu I guess.

Any clue what could be causing this I can't find any shorted wires anywhere

Check out the alarm if your car came with one from the dealer. The alarm in my MSP took a s*** this year. The car just died at the grocery store one day. It wouldn't even turn over, felt like the battery was disconnected or something.

It ended up being the 15 year old alarm going out on me.
