Hey guys,
After 124k, and some admittedly rough driving, my factory clutch on my 2010 MZ3 S is slipping when that good torque comes on.
Specifically, I'd like to see if a Gen1 clutch will work with the Gen2 2.5/6sp combination.
I have perused RockAuto and there are a few clutch kits that have the same part number combinations between the 04 and the 10 models. The clutch diameter, spline diameter/count, and throwout bearing are all the same, but I'd like to see if the 1st gen pressure plate will mount up on the 2nd gen flywheel, or if I need a 1st gen flywheel to go with it (probably won't work because the 10+ had a DMF).
Thanks in advance for any insight on this! Looks like the only performance clutch for the 2nd gen 3 is the Spec one, which I will probably end up doing if none of the 1st gen 3 options will work.
