quick help - winter tires - 2017 CX5

Hi Everyone! Thanks in advance for your answers!

I'm pretty bad with cars. Can you tell me if winter tires of 205/55R/16 winter wheel and tire will fit on a 2017 Mazda CX5? I just got this car a few months ago and previously drove a Mazda 3 with these winters.

The tires are on steel wheels

My current CX5 tires are 225/55R/19

Welcome mptsang. The wheels you have may work but really need more info, specifically the width and the offset of the wheel. As for the tires (205/55R/16), NO! They would be 99 mm (3.9") smaller in diameter. Your speedometer alone would be off by 13.5% and the smaller size might cause other issues. You would need to go to a 225/70R/16 tire. For my winter set-up, I'm using 225/70R16 tires on 16x6.5 wheels with a 45 mm offset and they work fine.

You will also get problems with the TPMS but I would be interested to know how these manifest themselves.
