Mazda5 rf7j water pump

So having lived with a water leak for a while from the pump, I have decided to replace it, on looking under car it seems really hard to access.
Iv opened up the timing belt compartment and no water is getting in so I can only assume it's a gasket or pipe fail.
Has anyway any idea how to get to it or do I just struggle

Instead of assuming that the leak is coming from the pump why don’t you pressure test the system and pressure test the cap?

Obviously, you don't have the 2.3L. Diesel or the 2.0L petrol? BTW, most of us are Stateside, where only the 2.3L are offered. We will probably be a bit thin on experience, although the GOOD news is that there are enough active Europeans members that I think you can get this answered eventually. Good luck, b/c the 2.3L water pump is a very ornery female dog.
