2016+ CX-9 AWD spare tire size?

Solution
155/90-17 28" O.D.

OE:
255/50-20 30" OD
255/60-18 30.1" OD

A 175/90-17 has an OD of 29.5" This might be the closest size available.

We're guessing that there is a problem. Mazda has their warranty on the powertrain for 5 years & 60k miles. If we follow the requirements for driving on the compact spare, will there really be trouble (the next chance I get I'll review what the owner's manual says)?

Solution
I think it will only trip the TPMS light as the revolution for the spare will be different. I don't think a smaller spare will harm the vehicle as the purpose of the spare should and is for temporary use.
