Well, Toyota just announced that they will be offering CarPlay in the US on 2019 MY vehicles with EnTune 3.0, coming to US dealerships in Spring 2018.

I don't know much about the Mazda/Toyota partnership, or whether that forebodes well for Mazda or not. But I do know that this leaves Mazda all alone as the only major automaker in the US to not offer CarPlay/Android Auto.

Not a great position to be in if you're trying to sell vehicles.

Ya'll are gettin' too bent out of shape over AA/CP.

Crank up some tunes, put that damn phone away and enjoy the drive. Second star to the right and straight on till morning.

Since Mazda haven't ruled it out, it will be coming. Just a matter of when

Are you guys talking about Chiefmg? Haven't seen him around lately.

I saw the article and just knew there'd be discussion here about it :)

I was definitely shocked though. Good on Toyota for adding AA/CP (and actually giving some indication of the timeframe and vehicles impacted).

After seeing just how bad Apple Maps is I'm not as thrilled about it as I was before, but I'd still like the option to have it.

Apple Maps, always good for directing your casual weekend drive off the side of a cliff. (thumb)

For those of you interested in using Waze via Mazda Connect, there is another possible path. At the Consumer Electronics Show, Ford announced Waze IOS access via SDL - smart device link - on Sync 3.

Mazda is also a member of the SDL Consortium FWIW:

I’m holding off upgrading my iPhone 6+ to see how the AA/ACP shakes out on Mazda. I thought I’d need to switch to an Android device to use Waze, since Apple doesn’t support it on ACP. Maybe not?

Either way, I’m not holding my breath. My 3.5 year old iPhone has some life left in it, especially with a cheap battery replacement later this month.

I remember this. They created this organisation not too long ago to counteract ACP/AA

Toyota didn't mention AA. Peculiar.

Any update from Mazda yet on a timeframe where we can expect to see an update that will put ACP in our cars? Getting tired of waiting.
