Front Wiper Stalls Issue

This weekend while on a trip I had to front wipers stop in mid travel and not respond to any wiper stalk position. The next day after checking the fuse and starting the car they parked as normal. Later that day in auto mode they made one partial sweep and again stopped in mid travel and didn't respond to stalk movement. Has anyone else had this issue? Is this a stalk problem or a relay issue? Where is the relay located?

Any help appreciated.

Investigation showed that the issue was in the plastic sequencing switch that is attached to the wiper motor. Replacing the motor assembly seems to have fixed the problem. To remove/replace the motor you need to do the following:

1. Remove cover caps and unbolt both front wipers.
2. Remove the flexible seal at the rear of the hood area by pulling up each plastic pin. Remove enough to get be able to remove the large black plastic cover at the rear of the engine compartment.
3. Remove left and right plastic covers on each side of the engine compartment--held in place by little plastic pins, turn with a Philips screwdriver to disengage.
4. Unscrew self tapping screws revealed under the flexible seal along the large plastic cover at the rear of the engine compartment
5. Remove the large plastic cover by removing more of the plastic pins.
6. Unbolt the wiper motor/linkage assembly
7. Release plastic catch and unhook the connector from the motor assembly
8. Unbolt the motor and gearbox from the linkage assembly.
9. Install new motor assembly
10. As the British manuals used to say "installation is the reverse of removal".

Suggest testing the new motor/linkage by hooking up the connector and trying out all wiper functions prior to bolting in place, confirming that there is rotation of the wiper attachment points.

Thanks for sharing the info. Glad you got it sorted. Haven't seen that one before. I think you were the first to encounter it.
