I have a 2003 Protege and I now have a rattle at the floor shifter (automatic transmission), also the gear indicator in the dash does not show D it shows M when I should be in D. I have removed the shift cover and it looks the shift interlock is clicking and making noise. Is this a sign of a shifter failing?
