Just when I fix one thing, something else goes wrong. lol. so far this week I fixed the noise which I thought was a bad alternator bearing but turned out to be a loose belt, got the fog lights to work, (someone had cut the wire to the relay for some reason) and I had a noisy blower motor which turned out to be a leaf in the turbine. now I have a "pending code" P0550 "power steering pressure switch"
first of all, what's the difference between a "pending code" and a CEL? CEL currently not lit, and i'm still at 5/8 monitors ready since last doing work on the car (disconnected the battery)
Seems easy enough, I assume that small single wire coming out of the PS pump is the sensor in question. Is there a way to test it with a voltmeter?
although, it probably is bad, I noticed the idle kind of drops a bit when I'm stopped but I turn the wheel, like when parallel parking, even though it doesn't stall.
when I unbolt the sensor, will I have to worry about pressurized PS fluid spewing out everywhere?
