I went to take my wagon in for alignment and the tech showed me it wasn't recommended since one of the Bushings on the rack and pinion was worn. Can this bushing be replaced or do I have to buy the entire rack?

Just go find a replacement bushing it should be around the rack

I assume you mean part #4... (and maybe #5 too)

I didn't see it listed at Rockauto,... It might be a dealer part, which shouldn't be too bad,.. Probably less than $1000... (I'm kidding, but dealership charge big $)

You probably want to avoid something from a junker because it will be old and rotted too after 15+ years.

I just noticed part #2... "mounting rubber"...

That one looks pretty involved to replace.
(I've never had mine apart... I'm just going by the manual... I don't know how it's mounted ?)

If both are shot, you might be able to get away with just part #4 ...
Looks like you have to remove the rack to do part #2...
(If it were me, and I needed part #2 done,.. I'd use a dremel tool to remove the old rubber then fill it with window weld... I wouldn't want to remove the rack... just the bolt.)

Nah just do part 4 and all you need to do is take 4 bolts out.

Thanks for the diagram, the one I saw was #2. I mean it can be removed and I can find someone with a press to do the new one but by then I will have removed the rack. But if it saves spending $200 I could give it a go.
